The Calmness Of Japanese Gardens

Posted on

Japanese gardens are steeped in hundreds if not thousands of years of history. They are havens of calm in a hurly burly world and are designed to be just that. When you view a well laid out Japanese garden it is impossible to not feel that sense of calm and relaxation. the multiple elements of a Japanese garden combine to give the overall feeling- no one aspect can be attributed to it. The sum total of all the parts give the desired result! I feel that it is the stones ‘element’ that help most in creating a feeling of peace- if you liken a garden to a body….rocks and stones are the skeleton, the bones if you will on which the garden is constructed. Plants and ornaments are the trimmings.

I shall be posting again tomorrow, and don’t forget I would love your feedback.

Have a great weekend.
