Space And Balance In Japanese Gardens

Thanks for reading my blog there is lots and lots of great information and photo’s for you to enjoy, have a good look through some of my previous posts. Today, as promised, I have some basic information about space and balance in a Japanese garden.The great thing about Japanese gardens is the management of ‘Space’- Japanese gardeners have no fear of open spaces whatsoever. Large empty spaces are very common- this is done so they large empty spaces compliment the other garden elements and outline them too.

To achieve a good balance in a Japanese garden the creator will get the proportions right so that each element works with the others, rather than competing with them. Large items in small places will overwhelm the overall tranquility of the garden.
